Yellow silky rayon nightgown looks beautiful worn as a dress. It has a sheer, gauzy yoke and midriff in tulle. The neckline is shaped over the bust and the tulle yoke is dotted with appliqued flowers. Puff sleeves are elasticised. The sheer midriff panel is gathered with three rows of elastic. Narrow ruffles trim the neck and shaped hemline.  It pulls on, with a short opening at the back of the neck, closing with a button. Lower calf to above ankle length. Brand is Seamprufe. Purchased from the US - 1940s.

Condition

Good. The garment has been shortened as it had been damaged. There is a nick out of the gauze midriff at the back, darned but will likely go to a small hole again. Some of the elastic at the waist is missing, but functions perfectly.
